Captain's Recognition Night
On Thursday May 22nd, the Wells Professional Firefighters Association hosted a recognition night for two former Captain's. Over 80 guests filled the Coastal House in Wells showing their appreciation for Captain Ramon Nolette and Captain Gillian Utgard. Representatives from the Town of Wells included Selectmen Bob Foley and Town Manager Jon Carter. Read More...

Captain's Pinning and Swearing-in Ceremony
Newly appointed Captain's Jeff Nawfel and James Moore participated in the departments first pinning and swearing-in ceremony last night at Town Hall. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Karl Ekstedt, pinned the two with their Captain's badges. Family members were present to pin on the Captain's lapel pins. Information about Fire Permits - Open Burning
The State of Maine Forest Service has begun to issue the fire danger class days. The classes range from low to high and what the State issues for a class day dictates the rules you have to follow to burn within the Town of Wells.  Class 1 and 2 days are low. You can get a permit and are allowed to burn from 9am to 10pm. Read More...

Dryer Fire Safety
On Sunday March 30th the Wells Fire Department responded to a reported dryer fire in a residence. Members were attending mandatory annual training at Highpine Fire Station which was on the other side of town from where the fire was reported. Mutual aid was requested from the Ogunquit Fire Department due to the delayed response. Upon arrival the fire was reported to be contained to the dryer. Read More...
